Flying high: Microsoft praises Nervogrid’s white-label cloud services in keynote address
By Aleksi Partanen on March 20, 2012Posted in News | add a comment
HELSINKI, FINLAND – In his keynote address to the WorldHostingDays Global Forum 2012, Microsoft’s Andrew Lund turned the spotlight on Nervogrid for its pioneering cloud-based IT infrastructure services. These award-winning white-label cloud services are already having a huge impact on the way leading IT service providers and telcos deliver cloud services to their customers throughout the Nordic and Benelux countries.
“Microsoft fully supports Nervogrid in its goal to provide high-quality, cost-efficient, and agile white-label cloud services to local IT service providers,” says Andrew Lund, EMEA B2B Channels, Hosting and Partner Cloud Director, Microsoft – Operator Channels, Microsoft. “They are doing a great job in accelerating cloud service adoption in Europe.”
In recognition of Nervogrid’s innovative work, the company was recently named one of the top global finalists in the Hosting Partner of the Year category of Microsoft’s 2011 Partner of the Year awards.
Nervogrid’s service model allows IT service providers to deploy or expand cloud services under their own brand, with their own pricing and unique offering. The fully white-labeled cloud service catalog – ranging from high-volume collaboration tools like Hosted Exchange, SharePoint, and Lync, to Virtual Private Cloud and Hosted Virtual Desktops – is coupled with a cutting-edge and intuitive cloud control panel. The company operates across Europe and provides services locally in each market to prevent data sovereignty issues.
“Our resellers benefit from our massive economies of scale, extremely high level of automation, unprecedented flexibility of cloud services, stronger margins, and faster time to market – all with zero investment and a pay-as-you-go model,” explains Aleksi Partanen, CEO of Nervogrid.
“Together with our partners we ensure that our service catalog is always up to date, and that our unique cloud service control panel continues to be the most intuitive and easy to use on the market,” continues Partanen. “We free our partners from legacy manual production environments and help them concentrate on becoming the best service providers in their target markets. Starting as a reseller is easy: with zero investment and short contract terms, any IT service provider can start tomorrow just by signing up. Our mission is to be the most partnerfriendly white-label cloud service provider anywhere in the world, by taking care of our resellers’ business needs.”
Nervogrid is an international white-label cloud service provider, conquering the fastest growing area in cloud computing. The company helps its resellers to perform better by increasing profit margins on their existing service offerings and by adding significant value to their service catalogs. Based in Finland, the company currently operates in the Nordic and Benelux countries, with plans for rapid partner expansion further afield in the near future. Nervogrid utilizes its own automation and cloud service control panel technologies.

Dell Solutions Tour 1.11.2011
By Tom de Raad on October 28, 2011Posted in News | add a comment
On Tuesday 1.11.2011 Nervogrid will be participating in the Dell Solutions Tour taking place at the Finlandia-talo in Helsinki, Finland.
Not only have we been asked to prepare a stand for the event, but our technical guru and CTO Teddie Wardi has been asked to speak at the event in collaboration with Fondia’s Managing Director and long time Nervogrid user Timo Lappi.
Together they will explain what the modern Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) is about and what it is like to work with on a daily basis.
During the day we will demo the DaaS and our unique self-care tool at the stand, where several members of staff will be more than willing to give advice and answer any questions the public may have.
Growth
By Aleksi Partanen on September 28, 2011Posted in Business | add a comment
For us, 2011 has so far been all about growth. Growing our customer database, growing our company and growing our product range.
To date we have landed 16 new customers during the course of this year, meaning we have brought hundreds of new happy end-users to our service with the traditionally busiest months still to come.
More customers also means more responsibility. In order to be able to deliver our service according to our Service Level Agreement (which includes the 99,9% uptime guarantee) and to be able to offer top quality support around the clock we have grown our Service desk to over twice its size during the past 9 months.
We are currently also working on fleshing out our R&D team to further enhance and develop what Nervogrid has to offer. Continously growing the offering in our selfcare tool is very important to us, as both the instant delivery and use of enterprise grade services can save our customers time and improve their efficiency.
We realize that when it comes to IT infrastructure every customer is truly unique and in order to fully benefit from our services each ccustomer deserves full individual attention. It is our aim to not let growth get in the way of this personal approach. In fact, we just hired a new account manager to ensure that everyone gets the attention they deserve.
We are very happy to enter the next quarter, expecting it to bring at least as much excitement as the year has brought us so far.
Work Without Walls

“Greetings from New York!” I saluted my colleagues when I attended an online meeting with our team while travelling in the US last summer. We were in the middle of defining a suitable solution for a big client, and in this project we had to collaborate and get the work done as soon as possible.
Businesses all over the world are starting to realize that one of the most important assets they have in their companies are the actual people who work there. At the same time, they have also started to realize that what matters the most is not that people are physically present at the office, but that the agreed goals are met in time.
Companies have not come up with the idea of remote work all by themselves. Employees have started to ask for these possibilities and even in some cases demand the ability to work remotely. Microsoft did an interesting survey about this area in the US (http://bit.ly/l3RVXO) that underlined the fact that people do care about their work/life balance and find working remotely sometimes more productive than at the office.
In Finland, Microsoft has created a small hype by launching the National Remote Working Day: http://bit.ly/pzO4hY. During this day, companies challenge themselves to think about the benefits of working remotely in terms of working time saved by not driving to the office, combined with a smaller carbon footprint. One of our customer’s, Fondia’s, HR Manager Paula Stelander wrote a good article in Finnish about the stigma laid over remote work and how it is not supported in all organizations – even if there are no technological barriers: http://bit.ly/rrUedW.
Our organization is participating the National Remote Working Day. All our employees enjoy the benefit of using advanced cloud services that enable them to work from anywhere, anytime and anyplace. These services and benefits are the same that we provide to our customers every day.
Hopefully the National Remote Working Day will encourage businesses to further improve their employees‘ possibilities to work remotely and to find a better work/life balance. We are more than happy to help everyone who is interested to find out how easily it can be done!
Laptops that mean business
By Tom de Raad on August 22, 2011Posted in Tech | add a comment
Last week we took a delivery of 44 Dell Latitude E6320 laptops. These top of the range laptops are some of the best workhorses available.
Although the success of their design is something that might be up for debate there is no denying that they are the perfect tool for the job. Tri-metal frames, a tougher coating and a spill-resistant keyboard all add up to a very durable laptop.
Add the Intel Core i5, SSD harddisk and 4GB DD3 SDRAM upgrades and running multiple apps at the same time becomes a walk in the park.
Installing Microsoft Windows 7, Office and a range of other applications took about two and a half hours less compared to the lower spec laptops customers generally ask for.
Of course these 44 laptops are not meant for our personal use. In fact the majority of them have already reached the final customer, fully configured and ready to go.

Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference Day 3 and 4
By Jukka Kapanen on July 15, 2011Posted in Other | add a comment
Today we witnessed Sir Richard Branson keynote, which was actually an interview session, but still very interesting. Branson shared his business guidelines that are in use in his businesses. To put them in very short you could say that you should do bold moves, take good care of your staff and be ware of the risks of your decisions.
Nervogrid was one of the Microsoft Partner award finalists and had a great award dinner with other finalists on very nice Maroccoan style restaurant called Figueroa. One of the best networking opportunities which Nervogrid team really liked. Other very interesting event was “Speed dating for the cloud” session where MS partners were dating with each other on very fast manner, 5min per partner. We made many new contacts during the evening which might result on successful business partnerships in the future when the business grows.
Kevin Turner, Microsoft COO, talked about how System Center 2012 will support for non-Microsoft platforms like Windows Phone, Android, IOS and Symbian. This enables great opportunity to provide mobile device management service for all the major platforms with the same tool that is used to manage the whole customer environment, very nice indeed.
There was excellent session where 4 different MS partners shared their experiences of Office365 and Intune. What kind of challenges and learning’s they have had and why there’s room for both online cloud solutions as well as partner hosted private cloud solutions. Very interesting stuff.
The conference ended with huge partner celebration where grilled food, California sun and two rock bands (Los Lobos and Smash Mouth) made it a special evening. Nervogrid team (Teddie Wardi and Jukka Kapanen) ends the broadcast from WPC11 and try to take breath after a very busy week.

Nervogrid website available in Dutch
By Tom de Raad on June 29, 2011Posted in News | add a comment
After launching our new website a bit over a month ago, we have been working hard on getting a Dutch version online as well. As such, we are very pleased to announce that the website has been translated and the Dutch version is now officially available.
Besides the obvious translations and an added language button we have also added two Dutch companies to our Success Stories. These two companies are Rokade, a legal consultancy firm based in Rotterdam and Lauxtermann, a recently established Amsterdam-based law firm.
Please visit www.nervogrid.eu and let us know if you have any questions or remarks!
